This assignment immediately sparked my interest, but because it was such a free assignment I did not know where to begin. My room in Rotterdam does have some features that I definitely wanted to incorporate in the assignment so I tried to focus on those first. I have a room in the attic so my walls are slanted. When I got to work I thought of different ways of representing this and in the end, I chose for having every corner of the page oblique, so when unfolding the page the slanted roof would be visible.

For my room, I chose 4 objects that I use often and those that are manageable to fold of course! My bed is cozy and meant for sleep, so I incorporated the small lamps I have hanging above my bed in the paper maquette. I use my cupboard for organising and relocating my stuff. My desk is made up of an old wooden desktop and legs from the Ikea. In these legs, I immediately saw typography. Lastly, in my chair, I often read, so here I wanted to incorporate a bookshelf. I visualized this as if my initials were books on a shelf.
